I am really having a blast with these - here is the latest. The tricycle is in silk with a dress shirt and muslin making up the rest of the fabric.

Making pillows-upcycled!

Recently, I decided to pick up some fabric swatches in an attempt to craft pillows. I thought it would be fun to print off some images I got from the Graphics Fairy onto the fabric I could feed through the printer. It was a different sort of design challenge to think about how to use the panels in pillows. A quick search on the internet led me to pillows made from old dress shirts for the envelope backing. This led me to a trip to Goodwill in which I found several potential searches. Finally, a visit to my mother-in-law,  led to a long overdue sewing lesson to put the ideas together (it had literally been since the 8th grade since I'd been unsupervised on a sewing machine. And off I went; home to sew on my own-- other than some bobbin issues, it went smoothly.  So, here is to all of the women in my life who have sewn. My mom is gifting us with a sewing machine -- I am looking forward to the continued adventures in piecing strands together.
